-
It was a warm sunny day.
Everything was perfect.
Yet it made me wonder,
Will this go on forever?
Sadly I was mistaken,
For a storm had begun to awaken.
I found myself running,
Trying to hide from fate.
I took a wrong turn,
A grave mistake.
Regret was taking over,
And I needed to be braver.
I faced death itself,
And my life was fading slowly.
I knew I was losing,
yet I remained standing.
I was but a frozen soul,
Waiting for the inevitable.
I was losing hope,
and expecting something terrible.
I closed my eyes,
And whispered a prayer.
It was a final wish,
Pleading for a hero.
Death had struck me,
But someone else took the shot.
I was saved and free,
But someone paid the price.
I could see him dying,
Lying in his pool of blood.
I saw myself weeping
At the feet of my hero.
Yet he said to me,
"Do not weep nor regret,
For I was right to have saved you."
He swore it was true.
He was a real hero,
Doing a rightful deed.
Losing part of himself
Just to save someone in need.
The sky cleared up,
The darkness faded away
Along with the sorrow
And the path of astray.
I stood up and faced the future,
A long and worn out road.
I began to start my tale once again,
Thanks to the life my hero bestowed.
