I saw you sitting there
Staring at a clear vast sky.
I sat beside you and asked "Why?"
You only smiled but I began to cry.
You hid the pain for so long.
You kept me company for a long time,
You gave my little song a bit of rhyme,
You made the stars go brighter as they shine.
Why didn't tell me your body was already failing?
Instead, you told me everything was okay.
I trusted in you as I happily walked away.
Only to fail to realize that this might be the last day.
As you lie weak on the hospital bed,
I held your pale and weak hand dearly.
You said that you'll never leave me,
But now, I'm crying so sadly.
A few years have passed so quickly,
It was a clear and beautiful April day,
As I lay some flowers on your grave,
After that, I sadly walk away.
Remembering your laughing face on that same day,
When you just stared up at the clear vast sky.
The time when I asked you "Why?"
I now hold back my tears as I try not to cry.
