Night dawns
Winds whirl
Night's upon
Our humble world.
Children laugh
And question, too
At make believe stories
Like they always do.
But one night,
A child mutters,
"What happens to
The evil monsters?"
"Do they creep back
Into their cramped caves?
Or maybe run
All in vain."
Still no answers
For this brave, little boy,
He goes to sleep
Mind alive.
His dreams are filled
With evil things
Running and crying
With tears the sting.
They are hurt
Just as normal as can be.
No one listens,
Only cheer with glee.
The young boy wakes
A new day, tomorrow.
His childish heart
filled with sorrow.
He could see
What you and I can't,
That monsters aren't
Vicious and violent.
There is light in the darkness
And dark in the light.
So fight for the justice
For those with no might.

Description:
First entry, please be harsh with criticism, I really need that to get better.
This was basically me when I was little, I never understood what happened to the villains in stories after they were defeated. I actually silently rooted for them to win. - Date: 10/23/2010

- I enjoy the idea of looking deeper (whether by ones own intention or not) to realize that the way of the world is not black and white, but grey. Grammatically, the only bit I was unsure about is the line "With tears the sting". Adding a comma after tears would've made it flow more smoothly for me, but besides that, I earnestly enjoyed the reading and the explanation. Good job! X]
