He is the one that is always there right by your side. He is the leader of the family, the protector and provider for the family. He is the strong one that has to stay calm and collected as all goes into chaos. There is a day to celebrate for all fathers. But on there is another day, when all should remember everything their father does. That is on his birthday.
We should be letting him rest on his bed, watch his favorite TV shows, relax. But that would be an impossible day for a Father. For every good father has too much on his plate to take one or two days off and let the others take it upon themselves. He worries for his wife, hoping that she isn’t working more than she already has. He wonders if his son is ready to take his place when he starts off on his own family. He worries for his daughter, never wanting her to grow up too fast, and never wanting her to leave.
A father’s job is never done as he makes sure his family gets the best his needs. But on his birthday, it is his family’s job to make sure that he does relax though. At least one day of the year, he lets his worries go, relaxes, sleeps in late, and leaves his stress behind. A father can live with just one day of relaxation though he hopes and prays for more. A father should always have a day set aside for him to relax, and just for him, not just the day that all father’s get.
So on this birthday of yours, I hope you the best. I want you to relax, lie down and watch football until you can’t watch anymore. Today is to your day to relax. Just leave the rest for us to take care of. No yelling, no errands, no any that doesn’t involve you relaxing. So just lay back and relax, today is the day for mom to feel like she’s going to lose her voice and like no one is doing anything.
Happy Birthday Dad!

- Title: ~A Father~
- Artist: The Endless Dreamer
- Description: I would consider this like a poem, even though it doesn't rhyme. A poem doesn't have to rhyme to be a poem. I wrote it for my father for his upcoming birthday.
