So I guess I'm the one that turned you down.
Just another card in the deck.
And yet I cried after I picked it up.
And then shocked as I put you down.
Sitting in my room alone.
The darkness eats at me.
I see your smile and realize you've gone.
Quietly the dealer weeps to herself.
My hands slide across the surface.
No more bets to take.
The cards are on the table.
Yet the winning card was gone.
As I flip through your pictures here
I wonder about your queen.
It is a bitter feeling I have
It eats away at my being.
I see the photos now.
You with her.
I turn my frustration outward.
But i know it's coming back to me.
I'll probably be here for a while.
Adding cards and chips to the pile.
Betting tears one by one.
Till I've drowned them all.
