I am an original, not like one soul out there.
I wonder about my unborn brother,
Whose time should've been as long as mine.
I hear the same low murmur of conformists,
not taking the chance and being daring.
I want to fall into the Rabbit's hole,
To make my unknown world a reality.
I am an original, not like one soul out there.
I pretend that words don't sting,
But they are even more painful than the sticks and stones being thrown.
I feel sorrow for those who can't understand that the tongue is a deadly sword,
Who cuts those down around them,
Without batting an eyelash.
I touch the select few around me,
Trying to make at lease someone's day a little better than it started.
I worry that I won't have enough time on this Earth in order to touch
Every heart in some way.
I think about the smiles plastered on everyone's face,
Seeing that it never touches their eyes.
I am an original, not like one soul out there.
I understand that I'm not perfect,
That I am human and I make mistakes.
I say many things that I wish that I could take back,
But I know that I never can.
I dream of never growing up,
So the world as I saw it through juvinille eyes,
Will never take the shape that I know to be true,
I try to be the best daughter, the best friend, the best person that I can be,
Even if it never matches any expectations.
I hope to be more than I am.
To be the one that everyone adores, to always being in-demand.
I am a girl with too little time, unable to save the world.
