• I wake from a dream,
    Only to find I’m in a Nightmare.
    A shadow begins to materialize,
    And I begin to run.

    But the “shadows” are still there,
    Biting my ankles,
    Throwin me down.
    I try and I try,
    But they’re always there.
    Darkness is engulfing me
    Slowly, Slowly.
    Piece by Piece.
    But then I realize
    That I don’t have to do this
    Let the “shadows” run my life,
    Control what I do.
    I fight and I fight,
    And they begin to leave,
    But they’re gone.
    Always watchin me,
    Waiting for me to slip up.
    But I don’t give them the chance.
    I stand my ground
    And I keep on fighten
    Pushin the “shadows” back
    Showin them that I’m me,
    Not a puppet
    Not someone that you can,
    Attach strings to,
    And make ‘em do as you please,
    Not someone that you can,
    Expect to stand down,
    Stand by and watch
