Within the dark he trembles,
the absence of light hits him hard,
he cowers in the corner of his room,
his eyes spread wide,
attempting to rapidly adapt to the lightless area.
She shivers as she curls,
her knees press to her chest,
her breathing short and quick.
She tightly shuts her eyes, making darkness darker.
His hand reaches out loosely, grasping for anything,
his fingertips slither across a smooth surface
hand closing around it, he pulls himself to it.
He shudders as a face forms in the shadow opposite him,
the face of a playing demon.
He lets out a cry for help.
She let her eyes slide open slowly,
small amounts of darkness becoming exposed.
Little by little, her pupils are uncovered.
The room's haunting shadows,
the tree's claws casting shadows that dance upon her door.
A large face took shape in the claw's shadow,
she screamed for mercy.
He shuddered once more,
tears flowing slowly from his eyes.
He hears steps in the distant dark,
the steps of something..Big.
He cowered in the fetal position, hiding.
She let tears roll down her pale cheeks,
face twisted in horror as she stumbled back to her bed.
Loud steps sped their way towards the door. Or out of it.
She couldn't tell. She dove under her covers,
holding herself tightly, she wept silently.
His doorknob let out a twisted scream,
scaring the child more as he rest with himself.
He clutched his knees to his chest, fearing for himself.
His door opened with a heart-dropping creak.
He clenched his eyes tightly shut.
He heard a small click.
She trembled harshly,
silent screams erupting from her desolate lips,
her lonely tears of fear leaking down her cheeks.
A small noise startled her, she silenced herself.
Her door opened, resonating a loud thunk off her walls.
A minute click followed.
The light to the large bedroom flipped on overhead,
casting a sweet and sensuous glow over all the objects and shadows.
The boy in the corner stood up and wiped his face.
The girl crept out from under the covers and slowly wiped her tears as well.
The light stayed on that night, as decreed by both children.
They slept soundly, the light caressing their cheeks as they slumbered.

- Wow, really amazing, that is really really good. I can't explain it, but its one of those things that makes me want to write too, like an inspiration. There. You have been my inspiration.
