-
I can hear it from across the hall,
Curses, mean words.
Mommy, Daddy,
Stop it!
Go to sleep please,
Put this thing to bed.
Don't be mad at eachother,
Think of me, how sad you are making me.
I'm trying to go to sleep, I really am,
But your words are like a knife in my chest,
Please stop pushing it in deeper.
I feel the wetness behind my eyelids,
Am I going to have to cry myself asleep again?
You don't know I am awake,
I wish you did.
So maybe I could make you stop yelling,
We can all be happy again.
But something breaks,
Shatters,
I can hear it from across the hall.
Crying, like I am.
What broke? Did Daddy push it over?
Maybe I will go check.
From my door held slightly ajar,
I see what broke.
Daddy broke Mommy,
Daddy why is Mommy bleeding?
Daddy why are you crying?
I can hear it from across the hall.

Description:
This is based a lottle bit on my life I suppose. . . not to that extent, but close.
It is about a child who is trying to escape from their parents threats and curses, until it ends violently. . . sorry it's sad. - Date: 02/27/2009
