Still I lay…
The leaves fall, from the tree,
Seeking earth, finding me.
Laying there, staring up,
Like a lost, homeless pup.
No noise, not at all,
Like the calm, before a fall.
Creeping wind, soaked with chill,
Dark clouds looming, yet to spill.
Still I lay, not to stir,
listening softly, to thunder purr.
On my face, lands one drip,
Signal for, the clouds to rip.
The water falls, and falls some more,
Before I know, it starts to pour.
Lying there, my clothes grow cold,
If I don’t move, I’ll grow green mold.
But still I lay, and do not blink,
My mouth agape, But not to speak.
Soon my skin, has lost its glow,
As violent rain, begins to flow.
No sound is heard, except the rain,
Silencing feeling, dulling pain.
Mankind is silenced, and animals too,
The whole world coated, in shades of blue.
After a while, it begins to slow,
Clouds crumble and commence to go.
The air smells fresh, the sky is blue,
The grass is green, the world is new.
Yet still I lay there, still as can be,
Clothes soaking wet, clinging to me.
The bird sings out, and kids start to play,
And theirs silly me, content to lay.
And when the kids find me, well they give a shriek,
My skin is grey, and my neck has a leak.
Soon sirens blare, and boots are heard,
They disturb the tree, and scare the bird.
The storm is over, my body is found,
But still I lay, …beneath the ground.

I love dis biggrin 5/5! But the line "Lying there, my clothes grow cold,
If I don’t move, I’ll grow green mold." kind of seems out of place. Remember that poems dont always have to rhyme (or however you spell it). Y'know, this reminds me of a horror book i read called 'The hanging tree'. biggrin (p.S - Can you read mineee(s)? biggrin )
