I look around to see my fate
All I see is a mirrored face
There’s tears falling down
I reach to the ground
Pick up the pieces
And fall to my feet
I want to know just who I am
All I feel is a shell that beats
The edges are cracking
I push with my might
Take a deep breath
And breathe new life
I look around to see my face
All I see is a brand new fate
There’s no more tears
I scream out loud
There’s no more pieces
On the dusty ground
And now I know just who I am
I am someone who loves my life
There’s no more pain
Or torture endured
And all I can feel
Is a brand new me

- Title: Metamorphosis
- Artist: Ariana DeLiese
- Description: I wrote this poem shortly before graduating high school. It was at a time when I was shaking off all my emotional history and getting ready to start anew, it was quite an eye-opening and emotional metamorphosis that I personally went through, and I hope you like it.
