My sweetest one, now I call on you
I have never loved as I love you.
If you cannot give your heart to me
I will still - and ever - love thee.
My mind is weary, as the sunflower
I am thinking about you every hour,
not a second goes by; I know not why
unless I am dancing with you.
O, answer me and say you care!
my darling one, thou art so fair,
with radiant beauty that captures
my heart and grace from within
that lights every star.
I long to hear you singing again
pretty words of love in gentle refrain,
just a a word from you, on paper of blue,
will tell me if the greatest love is true.

At Scarthan: I'm assuming he attributes weariness to a sunflower beacuse most people would be very tired after standing in the sun for 8 hours straight.
The poem is decent. I don't like how you used "you" at the end of sequential lines in the first stanza, and how the third stanza is a completely different count compared to the others. The wording is cluttered at a few parts, and the old English speech doesn't fit (thee, thou). All in all, 2/5. - Report As Spam

- I like it, but I want to know how the sunflower is weary? They grow six feet tall and stand straight up, what about them makes you associate your "weariness" to them?
