I’m trapped in a cell of my own agony
I’ve locked the door and thrown away the key.
No more happiness and dreams
Just tears and hopeless screams.
These shackles chain me to the stone cold wall
I’m pushed off the edge and left to fall.
No colours and rainbows
Just darkness and sorrows.
There’s not one window in this room
They have sent me away to my doom.
Inside I feel numb and cold
If only I had listened to what they told.
Fear freezes my whole heart
I’m standing here like a chilling piece of art.
The pain is so terrible and great
But I have already sealed away my fate.
The warmth that I had once felt
Is pushed away by the agony I’m dealt.
I’m depressed and alone
I’ve lost the feeling in every bone.
This dungeon is now my home
A place that I can never roam.
I hope you do not make the same mistakes
For this place I’m in is not fake.
And now I must bid you farewell
Just listen to the story I tell.
Of a girl who had so many dreams
But lost them all in a shallow stream.

- It's a good poem but I don't get a feeling of being dead from it. And what made her kill herself? Who is the they that put her in the room? From what I understood she caused this on herself and thus not some other they. Oh! and don't get stuck on having to rythm cause that can make the poem different that what you had desired. Sorry,...I loved it but there are so many things that can affect how the reader sees what is going on in the poem and I have learned that all to well.
