I was there for you
I watched you when you fell ill
I was there for when,
you left me alone
with my kin
to love for as if they were my own
I was there
when you drank;
did things I didn't
understand
I was there
when you found
night life to be insatiable
lethargic, yet never ending
I was there when I didn't go back home
I was there when I saw you again
I was there when
you tried and failed...
and I was there...
I was there when you said good bye
Deciding your children of fifteen and eight years
was not what you wanted anymore
I was there
pain etched so far...
and then finally...
I was there,
at your wake, saying good bye
kissing your cold skin
for the last time as your daughter
I am here, praying to the sky
that you watch me every day
that you were there for my graduation
I am here
wishing you could see my life
see us grow up, and apart
I was there
You didn't want me
I am here
And I can't have you
Mother oh mine
I loved you;
I love you

- Description: Dedicated to my mother who died in May, 2005. The holidays are especially painful this year, and I'm so sad I never got to spend our last Christmas together.

- It just doesn't seem to have any flow to it, like it was all mashed together, could def use some editing.
