Those words that you spoke,
Quietly through that miniscule speaker,
For the shortest time,
Felt like the longest eternity.
You told me not to cry,
But of course that’s impossible,
For the tears now come truly,
Lulling me into a deeper sleep.
Those words that you spoke,
Made me feel torn,
More than I ever have,
More than I ever will…
In your one minute good-bye,
An eternity passed
And though you said nothing about remembering me,
I will never forget you.
