Unable to speak
My emotions fall out
Ignored in the long run
I just wanna shout
{chorus}
Take my heart
And stab it again
You don't understand
The song of the wren
I tell you the truth
Hidden in lies
To hear the real song
Just look at my eyes
The things that I write
Laced with the truth
To figure it out
No need for a sleuth
{}
Take my heart
And stab it again
You don't understand
The song of the wren
Keeping the silence
Stress fills the room
I'll have to stay quiet
'Till I lie in my tomb
I need a relief
Somewhere to go
So just like the wren
I sing of my woe
I may be complex
But I'm still very simple
The most I can hope for
Is to make a slight ripple
{}
Take my heart
And stab it again
You don't understand
The song of the wren
Maybe one day
Someday you'll see
And on that day
You'll set me free

- Title: The Song of the Wren
- Artist: -Tainted Mail-
- Description: Just a song I wrote recently. I'm actually pretty happy with this one, since I got to use a metaphor of sorts in it. For those of you who don't know, a wren is a bird that is mainly small and inconspicuous, except for their loud and often complex songs. And, yes, the "wren" is the metaphor I was talking about. Namely, the wren is supposed to be me. -_-
