Laying down, beneath the earth, in the darkness below,
Where the land gives way to stone and the sun cannot glow,
Live the creatures of fantasy; the folk that most call faire,
The beings that haunt our sweetest dreams or dance in our nightmares.
And in the darkness that encompasses all,
Lives the queen of faerie, with hair the color of fall,
And eyes that glimmer like the stars above
With whom many men have fallen in love.
She sits upon her throne and watches all that we do
Laughing hard or crying true
Telling all her servants to while away the days,
While she but sits upon the throne and says,
“I’ll say it sadly, and thrice times three;
What fools dost these mortals be.”

Description:
I've never done this before; I was just kind of looking through some of my old poems, and figured I'd submit one and see how it does. I'm kind of bad at rhyming poetry, so please forgive the rhythm if it's off a bit. It was actually inspired by Midsummer Night's Dream, so I kinda borrowed the last line from Shakespeare. ^^;;;
Oh, and it's not actually a sonnet. I don't think. I was just kind of playing around with stuff. ^^;;; - Date: 10/14/2008
