  i personally dont because of so many reasons, but this is my imagination of how you could become a 'immortal' you could probably make a difference in the world and decided not to... this was inspired by a Motivational poster!

Lets eat from a bramble
Lets become immortal
Lets live for eternity
Let us chose our fate
Or let us be doom to earth

If we can have a prime choice
If we can make a difference
If we can better ourselves
If we can better yourself
If we had control of cause and effect

Making this world good
Or making it bad
Creating a being of mass virtue
Creating a being of mass malignant
Knowing what's right or wrong,
doesn’t make it true…

If you are able but not willing
If you are willing but not able
If you cause joy but pain to
If everyone hates you but loves you to
If your nether willing or able then why be called god???
