The Lonely Child
She sits on the corner
A dress made of rags
A family departed
Tears flow freely
Pain increases daily
The gnawing in her stomache never subsided
Cars stream by the child
People run by the corner
Not a soul cares for her, the cold and hungry child
There she sat
day after day, night after night
Lonely and lost, lost and lonely
Rain now falls
She flees from her corner
Hiding in the alley nearby
Curled up in hiding
The pain finally leaves
She breathes her last breath
The tears now stop
The pain is gone
The hunger never bothers
the lost
lonely
dead child.
