-
when the world is sick
mississippi’s waters
rush upon the devastated shoreline
wash away sickness
we don’t know what
it meant
to be thrashed, torn
a couch in a tree
an ancient wardrobe washed across
the bay
can’t no one be well now but
what do we know about how
strong they are
how beautiful
