You said you loved me, But it didn't make sense.
You walked away with out another word said.
My knees began to shake and my eyes began to swell,
When I realized this was our farewell.
You let me be, Alone and free,
Because you thought it would be the right thing for me.
I refused the truth but ate up the lie,
When you were telling me goodbye.
When you came back, You healed my heart,
And told me you loved me and we could have a fresh start.
You wanted to know why I ate up the lie,
"It's because it never made sense for you to love me."
And I began to cry.
But you were back and nothing else mattered,
Your cold arms were around me and my heart was no longer shattered.
The tears are gone and now I can see,
I love you, And you love me.
