Origins Of Vampires
Vampires are beings of folklore and mythology that basically exist by feeding off the life force of humans and/or animals. Usually, they are “undead” or ressurrected corpses, who live off the blood of other beings. Most popular legends refer to the blood-drinking Undead in Eastern Europe, but many other various cultures and regions have similar creatures.
Becoming A Vampire
There are three main ways to become a vampire; by birth, by bite, and by death. The second is explanation enough in and of itself. A vampire bites and feeds from a male or female, and whether it is the result of recurring feeding or one incident of feeding that led to death.
Abilities & Flaws
The abilities of a vampire are numerous, and naturally depend on what vampire is in what area, for one to know what kind of things they might be capable of. For example; many species of vampire are not known to be able to fly, however, the bruxsa in Portugal, the lansuir in Malaysia, etc…
How To Kill Or Defend Against Vampires
As long as there have been legends of vampires, there have been methods by which to either kill them, or protect oneself and family from them. Before there was Christianity, however, there were still legends of vampires; what then of the use of holy symbols and idols to stave off the visits of a hungry vampire.

Vampire Subculture: Sanguinarians
The vampire lifestyle, or subculture has existed for many years, although it’s been growing over the last few decades. Many believe that the lifestyle has grown out of and stemmed from the Goth subculture, while still retaining elements and mannerisms of those participating in the S/M lifestyle.
Vampires In Nature
In the scientific study of animals, and insects, vampirism is also used in reference to mosquitos, leeches, vampire bats, of course, mistletoe, and other parasitic creatures surviving on tissues and fluids of other living creatures. Blood is a tissue fluid; just like the meat that other animals feed on, as well as human beings.
Psychic Vampires
A psychic vampire is not actually a vampire who happens to be psychic, since most vampires are reputed to have the powers of seers, or psychics in any case. A psychic vampire has many different synonymous names, such as an energy vampire, psy/psi-vamp, psionic vampire, energy parasite, pranic vampire, empathic vampire, or energy predator.
