Bio: Desilude is a demon that resembles a fox, though maintaining human anatomy, with the addition of large black angel wings. He was born with the ability to control blood, though this ability heightened his natural bloodlust. The smell; sight, and sense of blood are like an addiction.
Desilude lost his memory early in life, he assumes his parents abandonment caused his mind to block out his memories, though somewhere in his mind he knows that the cause is much darker. His earliest memory is walking out of a tattered and run down village riddled with human corpses during his sixth year of life. Desilude traveled without a name for several years, food was never difficult to come by, the ability to find a creature by the sense of its blood was useful for hunting. Finding water however was risky, it was difficult to find on foot so he had to scan from above, making it easy for demon hunters to find him, or even worse a hostile demon.
Desilude would rarely stumble into human camps or towns, humans would avoid him and demons were only passing through. He’d been called many things by those he met on his travels, some were nice and others were insulting, though none were actual names.
Desilude was caught during a kill by a demon; his most distinct feature in the darkness he hid was his purple eyes, especially at a quick glance. Desilude had blood formed into barbed wire, stabbed through the human and tearing into its throat and through its body, more blood held it down so it could not struggle.
“Child, you’ll get yourself killed, murdering in the open like that.” He said calmly
“No one can kill me, a sad truth.” Desilude said, the shadows pushed the other demon into view. He had a grin on his face as if he allowed Desilude to do so.
The barbed wire that ripped through the body split into many strands, wrapping around the human’s ribcage and tore them all outwards, the explosion of blood turned Desilude’s fur from black to an eerie glowing crimson.
“Is there a reason you feel the need to interrupt me?” Desilude created thin shadowy claws just above the tips of his fingers.
“Is there a reason for your killings?” The demon countered, showing no intimidation.
“Other than to appease my lust for blood, a secondary hunger nearly no one could comprehend. No, though better to have him die now, and alone, than to have me wait until I can’t bear it any longer to go without the essence of blood. For than far more would die. I do not care for these creatures, pitiful and useless, parasites, and they sicken me. However, killing too many in an uncontrolled frenzy would get me far too much unwanted attention.” Desilude explained, reading what his possible opponent planned to advise.
“You are not an unwise child, but you’ve still yet to understand what you risk with every kill. I’ve seen your kind before; your life span can rival my own. Being a demon also has its downfalls, especially with the addition of bloodlust, the way you deal with them, that is what carves your fate, your destiny can be pitiful, or it could be great. Too many end in tragedy.” He said, his voice sounded that of a mentor, selling his words with a believable expression of sincerity.
“I suppose you want to teach me how to choose a path that will not?” Desilude asked annoyed, little interest in his voice. “You’ll have to come up with something better than that, I believe the day I was brought into this world, I already carved my path into it, one that will happen regardless of my wishes or actions.” Desilude shrugged, “I will become who I must, learning my destiny is my only reason to remain.”
The demon showed no sign of surprise. “Then I shall teach you self-control, skills that will allow you to be free of this sadistic curse, the bloodlust that burdens you, along with others that will allow you to train your natural abilities.” He continued on, speaking of magic that controlled the dead, requiring the manipulation of blood into symbols, sacrifices to create a ‘minion’, power that seemed far too powerful to pass up, then onto topic of manipulating the minds of others.
All of this intrigued Desilude, though no matter, he had no idea what this demon was capable of. “There is no use in training under one that is weaker, so prove to me this is not a waste of time and effort. But know this, if I win, you die. Even if you win, I will not submit my will to match your whim.”
“Then, if you intend to fight,” He replied, bowing arrogantly as he spoke his next words of introduction, “I am Kraven, born of blood panthers, over a thousand years of life has made my knowledge vast and my fighting tech-” Kraven leapt out of Desilude’s attack. “And your name my rude adversary?” Kraven asked, repelling Desilude’s claws, Kraven threw Desilude to the ground, a blade of fire stabbed into one shoulder. Desilude’s attempt to rip the blade out was to no avail, Kraven kicked Desilude’s free arm away and pinned that down with a frozen blade that encased his shoulder and arm in powerful ice.
For the first time Desilude was defeated, vulnerable to his opponent.
At this point in life, Desilude was unable to escape this situation, being pinned down, and the blood of the human had already died away. No more blood was spilled, the searing blade burned the wound shut, and the ice blade did not allow the blood to escape its casing.
“Your name child, answer me!?” Kraven demanded irritation clear in his voice.
“I don’t know! I don’t care! Who needs a name anyway when demons move on their way, and humans will only address me as a monster, demon, or freak!? I don’t have a name and I’ve no use for one.” Desilude snapped, struggling and ripping the wounds from the searing blade open, the blade burning them shut as well.
“Then become my student, then you will have use for a name, then you will be known as Desilude, not only by your mentor, but to the world. I have a plan for your abilities that I cannot yet reveal, but I need to guide you to become far more powerful… You have an aura around you, one that cannot be matched, one that you had yet to unlock to its full potential.” Kraven spoke in his wise tone, a lecture of what sounded like a prophecy.
Desilude trained hard to live up to his new name and role in life, learning illusion magic rather quickly. Necromancy interested him the most, but there was so much knowledge a master of it could no longer exist.
“Desilude, have you stopped aging yet?” Kraven asked one day while Desilude was training his shadow magic, a power he’d always had trouble controlling. Desilude knew he was going to explain something from the tone of his voice. It had been twelve years since he’d been given his name. Twenty five years in life, and Desilude felt as if his strength and abilities were stronger beyond measure, as if there was only one creature in this world that could match them.
“Perhaps, how am I to know such things until many more years have passed?” Desilude asked, intrigued by the question.
“Demons with extended life spans like ours stop aging at the peak of their strength. I’ve noticed even when you hold back in your training, you are a hell of a lot stronger than you once were. In saying that, your true training starts here, when it comes to controlling your power to keep it from overwhelming you.” Kraven spoke calmly, though it seemed he’d been waiting for this moment since Desilude was first discovered.
Desilude’s training ended though the journey of these two would not end just yet. As Desilude gained power he kept his hatred of humans, this was not difficult because their mistakes were many. However Kraven never shared this hatred and often tried to bring Desilude to his right mind before he killed enough to get them noticed. Kraven was certain the humans would begin a war with demons, killing us off to remain dominant. Kraven never feared for his own life, however he did not like the idea of lower ranked blood being spilled.
"Preposterous! A demon that dies by human hands is no more than a corruption of demon blood, feeding off the power they do not deserve!" Desilude spat angrily during a dispute with his former mentor.
"There, again you allow your bloodlust to control your thoughts. you are but a pet to your darker mentality." Kraven's expression explained he still saw Desilude as a student, that he was still teaching Desilude his ways, ones that Desilude would never learn.
"A pet to my darker mentality? This is no form of bloodlust, but an ambition for evolution, one that our kind has long been needing. Humans killing demons is a disgrace. Starting a war between humans and demons would benefit us far more than allowing our blood to corrupt and whither into but a fraction of the power it holds. You wish to see our kind die off, allow these humans to continue their reign, allow demons to breed with low lifes. Soon there will be nothing left of our kind and I will not stand for it!" Desilude explained, the words that plagued his mind finally beginning to reveal themselves.
"I wish to see our kind become stronger as well Desilude, however that is no excuse to commit genocide! You cannot kill of an entire species! Many humans are innocent; they look only to live their lives." Kraven explained, Desilude had yet to hear this voice, one of regret, he feared he had trained the end of humanity.
"That is their sin! They wish to live on no matter the cost, such lowly creatures do not deserve the right to forsake others for their gain. They have nothing to offer to our world." Desilude shook his head. "If you will not assist me in ending the reign of these parasites, then I'll find means to create one who will, necromancy can breathe life back to a vessel." Desilude said forcing away the anger he knew would overtake him othewise.
"Than you will have no more than a mindless puppet, necromancy cannot create life, it may only destroy or manipulate it. If you plan on waging war, then you'll have to kill me, however I'll not hold back and if you are unwilling to give up these ignorant plans,, killing you will become my only option." Kraven's cold purple eyes were once again like frozen daggers into Desilude's mind, Kraven would betray his own to protect pointless parasites.
"I will not kill you Kraven, although I will never see human the same as you, They shall always be but parasites, and I will create a demon to rival the legends of gods that humans so fear." Desilude spoke, fighting himself not to break and flinch from Kraven's destructive stare.
Kraven was the only demon who could stop him, the only one that could kill him, and Desilude knew that, he was terrified of this tough he'd never show it. He was a proud pure-blooded demon, how pathetic he was to fear another. To any other opponent he'd laugh at death.
Kraven was basicly his father, the only demon to take him in and other than the training, life was far easier with an ally. Kraven did not have a temper like most demons, he easily stayed calm and told Desilude to forget this day, though if the situation ever rose again that he'll not have another chance to redeem himself, the fight would not end until Desilude submitted or one of them were dead.
Despite this Desilude still studied means of necromancy to combine blood and soul. Necromancy was always widely hated, so books were burned and so were the most powerful symbols and rituals. He had to go based off of what he already knew, and what he could learn on other forms of magic.
Desilude had secret means to his work, however he never let on that his plotting of humanity's downfall was all but forgotten.
"Hm, Desilude, that is you behind that illusion is it not?" Kraven asked not expecting an answer.
"Associating with humans is difficult in my true form. As much as I hate hiding among those lowly bugs, I will if I must," Desilude spoke, his form has changed to a human with white hair, red eyes, and a slender physical form.
"You've made your powers dormant. That is a dangerous addition, such things toy with your mental stability, especially with one already unstable." Kraven said, however his expression show that he seemed to run strategies through his mind that will make use of this human replica in their travels.
"Dangerous I suppose, but with my power dormant, it is undetectable. Hostile demons will find no reason to prove themselves by challanging me. I've not dormented them all however, those I find to be the most useful have only been lessened." Desilude mimicked Kraven's mentor like tone all too well.
People will be far more willing to deal with their own kind, and be unsuspecting that they are being used like a pawn towards a much larger goal. Intimidation can only do so much, even for a murderer.
He tried hundreds of necromancy rituals, supplies from humans and demons were scarce, so he harvested them on his own. Usually human blood and limbs were intructed, though demon blood was extremely powerful, even the lowest of ranked blood could create monsterous creature, no human necromancer could utilize and control this form of forbidden magic. A human once tried and created a creature that was dependant on consuming blood, one that spread a disease that would force others to share the curse. Humans call them vampires; something that depends on the life force of others is too weak to be considered among the demon race. They are merely humans who have lost humanity; the only thing that these creatures and Desilude share is a powerful urge to kill.
Kraven learned of Desilude's deception and forced him to fight for his life, Desilude could not fight at full strenght, hurting Kraven was the last thing he planned to do, Kraven have him little choice however.
Desilude stool little chance no matter how hard he fought. Desilude's body eventually gave out, his illusion faded and his dorment abilities reawakened, though they were of no use in Desilude's exhausted state. Kraven had succeeded in bringing Desilude down without making him bleed.
Desilude tried to stand, his vision blurred. Kraven pinned him to the ground with his blades just as he had many years before. Kraven went on a lecture about their blood, life spans, and Desilude's inability to defeat him if he could not overcome his anger, bloodlust, and fear.
While Kraven spoke Desilude bit down on his own tongue and filled his mouth with blood, spitting it out and manipulating it into needles that caught Kraven off guard. Kraven's blood seeped from his wounds onto the ice that trapped Desilude's arm, he manipulated it to acid and it slowly ate away at the powerful ice. From here on Desilude’s powers were out of control, attacking Kraven at their own accord.
With the ice gone he forced his stabbed palm up the blade until it was removed from the ground, he bit the handle and pulled with as much force as he could to remove the blade, defensive spikes formed making the pain nearly unbearable. Kraven at this point was forced to dodge walls made of bone.
Kraven continued to dodge through the maze and dashing towards Desilude, killing him would end the nightmare. Free from the frozen blade at last Desilude threw the blade a distance away, then proceeded to remove the fire blade.
Chained hooks shot from the bone walls and hit their target. Kraven now stabbed and chained, being held in the air as if he were a display of Desilude's twisted mind. As Desilude walked reality seemed to lose itself. Suddenly he felt as if he could no longer hold himself on his own two feet, falling to his knees he began to lose his form. He was no longer in control of his mentor’s fate.
Kraven was ripped into pieces as the chains pulled at once, dug deep enough to take chunks of his body with them.
Desilude dropped onto all fours, watching in horror at the mutilated body of the closest thing he had to a father. The demon who took him in after he'd lost his memory as a child. From the very beginning he'd been cast out by humans, and demons most of the time, were only passing by. He'd had many names in his life, some hurtful, others caring. Though to hear a true name from this demon was as if that life of solitude were nothing but a nightmare.
The monster was reborn, Desilude’s illusion form overtook him, his wing span was half hidden in his back, he lost control of his form and looked mostly human. His shadow-like claws refused to be hidden, his wings unable as well.
Desilude became lost in his insanity, the illusions distorting his mind, only in dire need was his true form able to take control.
Desilude has since then discovered his reality distortion abilities, and has broken reality around him, the feeling seemed familiar, and the overwhelming power toyed with his mental stability and his illusion abilities. His powers began to backfire. The power took out half of modern day New York.
Desilude is still under the effects of an unstable mind from the recent reality break.
Hundreds of years of research had payed off as Desilude learned how to create life using necromancy, mixing high ranked demon blood and arch-angel blood to create a vessel, mixing thousands of souls trapped in the afterlife into one vessel. His creation named Scourge, arrogant, but extremely powerful, manipulating souls themselves.
Desilude wonders if the tragedy will repeat itself. If demons will ever be rid of humanity.
