It is 2277, the world is a post-apocalyptic place that is safe for no one, not even the creatures that run it.
I woke up to the stench of mutants. My mouth was ducktaped and I was in a pre-war house. I saw my comrade, Lee was knocked out beside me, hopefully not dead. The only way to find out was to take his pulse, but I heard footsteps coming so I acted as if I had never awoken.
"Goddam you two!" A voice said. I opened my eyes, only to see a familiar face.
"Thank god you got here, Gary! We almost got our asses handed to us by those mutants!" I told him. He looked over at Lee, and ripped the ducktape off his mouth. I was relieved to hear Lee's heavy breathing. He looked at me and broke the shackles off my wrists. I got up and Lee did too, He looked at his holster and realized his gun had been stolen.
"Alright, we need to get out of hear because I almost got shot from this old man" Gary stated.
"s**t. That must be old man Arkansas!" I yelled.
"Wait, I thought you said we had enough time to loot all of these houses." Lee said.
I gave him a look and we all silently decided that we needed to leave the mine field as soon as possible because, well Arkansas could shoot someone from a mile away. We headed out of the nicest house we'd seen within a year. The bright wasteland sun beat down in my face so I grabbed my glasses and put them on. I heard a shot and at that moment I charged out of heading as far north as I could before running out of breath. I could hear the stomping of my allies' feat behind me. We saw a band of raiders straight ahead of us...
