Annabeth stood on Half-Blood hill watching the fireworks go off. Heracles was wrestling the Nemean Lion. Two huntresses ran across the sky their bows stretched. A tribute to all Hunters lost in the War. A trident light up the air, for Percy.
“Beautiful.” A familiar voice whispered in her ear.
“I’ve never really cared for fireworks. Scared the Hades out of me when I was little, Percy.” Annabeth replied.
“I wasn’t talking about that, I was talking about you” Percy said.
Percy leaned down and as their lips met in a passionate kiss a red firework heart exploded behind them.
ALTERNATE
Annabeth sat on a checkered picnic blanket next to Percy. Camp Half-Blood’s fireworks were exploding in the night sky. Percy had an arm around her.
“Amazing, but not as amazing as you.” Percy whispered.
“Peerrrrccyyyy….” Annabeth said.
Percy silenced her with a kiss. “I love you, Annabeth.”
“Mm. Love you, too.” Annabeth mumbled.
“Watch.”
A fire had exploded in the words ‘Will you marry me, Annabeth?’
“Percy?...Yes! YES!!!” Annabeth screamed.
Percy leaned down and captured her lips in a long, passionate kiss. A red Cupid heart exploded behind them.
