Warne
Did he just read my mind? I wondered.
“Yes, I have telepathy, the ability to read the minds of others.” Warne answered.
“Where are we?” I asked.
“We are at Lake Everblue. And I think this is a good enough spot to rest for now, seeing as you’re awake now, I don’t need to drag you anymore.”
“Why are we resting, and where are we going?” I asked confusedly.
“We’re resting because it’ll dusk soon and we need our strength for the rest of our journey.” Warne replied. Warne sat up against a tree and closed his eyes. Although I knew he wasn’t sleeping I copied him, it seemed like the right thing to do. Warne slowly opened his eyes and looked over at me and said “We’re going to be walking to Zeathros tomorrow so try and rest that arm of yours.”
I glared at the sight of my arm, it was twined red and blue like the rod Warne had handed me before I blacked out. The pain began flowing back through my arm. I held and squeezed my arm in pain, Warne got up and grabbed my arm creating a bright light and the pain magically stopped.
“Don’t worry you’ll get use to the pain in a couple days, it’s because you grabbed the elemental rod with one hand causing the power to flow into one arm and not both.” He Explained. “I used a numbing spell for now to reduce the pain but it won’t last forever so try to rest before the spell wears off, I know you have many questions but save them for our trip tomorrow and I promise I will answer any questions you have. Now goodnight.” He ended softly. He began to reach for my head and his hand started glowing white, I felt dizziness, drowsiness, and the next thing I knew, I was asleep. I dreamt of the Cyclops again, terrorising the city and destroying everything in sight. A little girl was swinging on a playground swing began screaming and started running, a piece of debris slid off the building beside her about to crush her it bounced off a invisible wall. It was those people again who looked like Warne, one of them walked over to the girl and commanded her to follow them. The ground began shaking around them as the cyclops neared their location. The other guys ran ahead and shot rays of light at the cyclops trying to stop it, but it was too powerful for them and overpowered their magical rays. They started to retreat but it was too late for them the cyclops already had three of them in one hand and the other two his other hand squeezing them till exploded sending different colours and body part everywhere. Then the cyclops turned and looked right at me as if I were standing in front of him and began to smile, an evil smile “I’m coming for you Xavier!”
I woke up. It was dark around me only the glistening moon light reflecting off the lake was shining. Those words “I’m coming for you Xavier!” echoed in my head over and over again, I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Warne was up against the tree again but I couldn’t tell if he was sleeping or not, my arm began burning in pain again, I grasped my arm as it throbbed. I decided to run down to the lake to see if I could cool it down, the lake was only a little distance away from the rest spot so it would take long to get there and back.
