• “…what do you mean?” I ask.
Fay looks down. “Whenever I try to tell Mal that I’m a meld, Bel changes everything I say”
“Really? So he can control you even when you’re the main personality?”
“Yes. Bel never existed until when I turned ten. I‘m a meld by birth, and when I got into that accident, Bel awakened.”
I started to feel sorry for him. Bel was getting on my nerves now, and to think that I thought he was an OK guy! “Bel is such a jerk! Is there anyway to shut him out of your life? He’s such a meddler. You should be able to live without a second personality trying to change your words and getting you in trouble.” I remembered how Fay got yelled at by Mal and almost got tooken away to the authorities because of Bel.
“Well—” Fay begins but stops abruptly, lifting his head to face me. I could see a different spark in his eyes. Bel. “You actually believed him? Do you really?” his voice was harsh towards me.
I backed up, my voice shaky. “Well…you are t-the second—”
“—Personality, right? I’m the second personality” he balled his hands into fists. I could see his veins protruding in his skin.
    “Aren’t you?”
He smirked. “I can’t believe I even let Fay tell you that he was a meld. I can’t believe I even showed myself to you”
I was offended. “Then why did you?!”
“Because your different” his expression was firm. “And the only other person that notices it is Daishaw”
Bel shakes his head. I was too shocked to say anything. There was still so much I needed to know. Is Bel really the second personality? If he is, then why does he think that Fay is the second one? And how am I different? I started to feel cold all over. I wrapped my arms around my body.
    “Heeeyy!”
Lenschi’s voice came from behind. I turned to look, then faced back to Bel. But he was gone.
“Eh?” Lenschi stopped next to me and looked around. “Where did Fay go?”
“…had something else to do, I guess” I replied, my voice distant.
“Ok then!” he says cheerfully, “let’s go help out with the ceremony. Some blue haired flier came and destroyed the battle symbol on a building. Everyone thought it was Fay, but he wasn’t a flier so the mystery becomes unsolved” he looks at me. “What’s wrong? You catching a cold?”
I was shivering all over. “Well it’s freezing.”
He looks up in the sky; nice, bright, and clear skies. He waves his arms around to feel the temperature—hot. “Well, if you say so” he takes off his jacket and puts it over my head.
“Wah..!” I lift the jacket so I could see.
    “Put it on” Lenschi smiles.
“….” I listened to him for once. I put my arms through the sleeves and zipped up the front. The sleeves were super long, it ran past my fingers.
Lenschi laughs a bit and points to the building that I came out of. We started walking to it. I looked around for Mal and Bel. She should be with Lenschi but she’s not, so it’s a bit strange. Bel ran off somewhere and I wish I knew where.
Far off into the distance I found Ellisia. Her long, wavy, strawberry hair was as bouncy as ever. She saw me and waved. I waved back. Beside her was her weirer and a familiar face, Ford. When we made eye contact, I looked away but then turned back. He smiled and told the others something. They all nodded and he waved goodbye then started running towards me.
Oh no, I don’t have time for this. I linked my arm with Lenschi’s and leaned my head against his shoulder. Go away, please go away. I felt so bad. Does he like me? Do I like him back? I think I could, and that’s why I want him gone. Maybe he’ll get the picture once he sees this.
Ford continues running. He reached us, out of breath.
“Hey Lenschi, Illie” he nods to both of us, smiling the brightest smile ever. “I didn’t know you two were an item”
Me and Lenschi broke away; my plan failed and it made things worse.
“I didn’t know, either” Lenschi replies.
“What?” Ford got confused but decided to put it away, “Anyway, I hope to see you guys tomorrow at the ceremony. It’s going to be amazing!”
“It is” he agrees, his smile matching Ford’s. “I’m thinking of sleeping early just so that tomorrow comes faster” they both laugh. I’m starting to feel left out.
    “Did you meet my shohn?”
“No. What does he or she do?”
“He’s an analyst.” Ford say’s proudly.
“That’s amazing!” Lenschi was happy for him. “Analyst are one of the best kinds you can have for a shohn”
“Do you mind me asking what Illie does?”
I froze stiff. What will Lenschi say?
“I do mind” he smiles. “Because she hasn’t told me either” he turns to me. “Right, kid?”
“Y-yes, I like being mysterious” Wow, that’s the lamest thing I could’ve said.
“I see” Ford didn’t question me. “Well, sorry to bother you two. I’ll be on my way now. See ya” we said our goodbyes and he went back to Ellisia. It didn't look like he was the least bit into me.
Me and Lenschi continued on our path. We were really close to the building now. I could see the broken giant cardboard sword from the back. Some people were already working on it, all they had to do was stick the two pieces back together so I don’t know why me and Lenschi have to help.
We turned a corner and Lenschi stopped. He was staring down, then looked around at everyone. I did too, just to see what caught his attention. I saw people in pairs of two working together, laughing, having fun. Those were pairs of weirer and shohn. Then I realized it.
    “Lenschi—”
“The ceremony is going to be fun!” Lenschi interrupts me. “I can’t wait to see it…from afar”
“What?” there was a long pause.
Lensch lifts his head and I could see his eye’s water and glisten under the sunlight. “I need to be alone” he says to me, and runs away. He disappeared in the crowed, leaving me all alone.
What happens now? I have nothing else to do, no where to go. Back to the school, maybe? I searched for the Farris Wheel where Bel and I went over. Past that should be the school. I headed for it.
There it was, but where was the door. I started wandering along the fence, waiting for an opening to appear. My mind was clouded and grey. Why don’t I notice that Lenschi doesn’t like talking about the ceremony? He only uses that to remind himself that he doesn’t have a shohn.
My head starts to pulse and my surroundings began to swirl like a merry go round. The colors mix like a rainbow and I fall backwards—into a couch.
What in the world is happening now?! I was starting to hate this world.
The room I was in is some sort of an office room. There’s a desk in front of me with a large red chair. There’s a feather on the desk dipped in black ink. To my left was a book shelf filled to the brim. One of the book stuck out to me. It was large and grey. The title was The War 200 Years Ago. I took it out of the shelf and held it across my lap. The door to my right swung ajar and in came Daishaw. He looked angry.
“I need to speak with you” he says, taking a seat at his desk.
“You teleported me here? Is that even allowed—”
“I’m an elder, anything I do is allowed” he looks at the book I was holding. “That book” he says. “Is just what I was going to talk to you about”
    I looked down.
“The war two hundred years ago. It’s going to happen again and you’re the cause of it”
