Chapter 1
"Bye Mom", said Catriona Burton.
"Bye Kitty, have a good day at work", said Avery.
She waved goodbye to her mother, as she left the house. It had been seventeen years since that day, and she was now grown up.
Catriona met up with her cousin Darlene. "I hope the bus gets here on time", grumbled Darlene. She was Susan and Lou's daughter, with her mother's auburn hair and hazel eyes.
"Don't be such a spoilsport. We got time", said Catriona.
"Why are you so eager to go to work?", she teased.
"Maybe I got a feeling that something is going to happen. I got a good feeling about today", she mused aloud.
"What, do you think you're going to find a boyfriend? That'll be great. You think that with your looks, you'd find a boyfriend by now", joked Darlene.
"Not if they all have step on a ladder", she retorted.
Catriona was a striking young woman. She was the splitting image of her father, with her height, wavy auburn hair and hazel eyes, along with her mother's face.
Her only problem was her height. Catriona was over six feet tall, taller than most guys she knew. Most guys were intimidated by her height, preferring shorter girls.
"My mom and dad were both six feet tall, is it any wonder I'm a giant too? Shane's taller than me, but since he's a guy, that's no problem", she said sarcastically.
"Hey, the bus is almost here. Maybe today will be your lucky day. Maybe Prince Charming will come on his white horse and spirit you away", giggled Darlene.
"More likely he'll show up with a guitar. I love guitar players, they're so sexy", she sighed.
"Yeah, because your favorite uncle is a guitar player", she joked.
"Stop that, the bus is here", said Catriona.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the mall. The stores were just opening, as they quickly made their way to the Hot Topic.
Their boss Eddie greeted them. He was very tall and thin, dyed black hair a contrast to the pallor of his skin, the color of chalk. He wore a Misfits shirt, black bondage pants and combat boots. His goatee was dyed purple, three piercings in each ear, along with nose and labret piercings.
"You girls are just in time. We just received a shipment of t-shirts, put those on the shelves. And we're giving away tickets for Gigantour", said Eddie.
"Cool. I know you're not supposed to like Megadeth because of your dad, but I love them", said Darlene.
"Just because of my dad doesn't mean I can't like them. Oh well, that's cool, I'd love to go to Gigantour. Hopefully we can get tickets", sighed Catriona.
