• -Mina-

The dark haired girl was just settling into bed - if you want to call it that. All of the human soldiers slept in shabby sleeping bags on the cold ground. They had tents over them, but they didn't have a floor. A few humans guarded the area so that the fight would not continue over this way if the vampires and weres found their camp. Tall grasses surrounded the area, so it was very unlikely. The vampires and weres both used all their strengths, all 5 senses (6 for vampires), for the fight. Smelling them out and telepathy wouldn't be able to be used to find them, unless they were actually looking.

Mina didn't go to sleep after settling into her sleeping bag. Blood coated her legs and it was in her hair. She was also sweaty, as were all the people around her. The smells made her sick to her stomach and she couldn't sleep. It was too cold at night to sleep now and the bugs and bird noises kept most people awake, anyway. So, Mina didn't sleep.

She lay there, daydreaming about the boy that she saw. The way he moved, the way he looked at her... A passionate hunger burned deep in her stomach when she thought about it. Until she shook her head and the images disappeared once more. The girl decided to concentrate on sleeping instead. Mina could hold her ears and hear no noise, curl up as best she could, and try not to smell. Finally, she went to sleep.

Only... The dreams she had in this slumber were of that boy, too. It was a simple dream. The boy had long-stemmed flowers in his hand and was walking up a pathway to a great white house that was surrounded by a picket fence. His hair was long around his ears, dark brown, and kind of shabby. His eyes were a radiant green, not the red the girl had seen, and they didn't have black circles around them. His teeth were all aligned, none of them longer then the others.

A girl sat on the porch in a plain, blue sun dress. She waved at the handsome fellow and giggled. Her black hair was clipped in the back, falling between her shoulder blades. Her eyes glowed with desire as the boy crept closer to her and placed a kiss upon her fair cheek. "Mina," said the boy in a gentle, but velvet voice. "Roses for my fair maiden. I have traveled far wishing to give you anything you ask. I want you as my bride."

The girl was astonished, yes, but it was a dream so she wasn't necessarily surprised. She accepted the flowers and bade him sit with her. The rest of the dream was fuzzy and not important except for a single name that kept replaying in her head: Dris.
