I remember the first day I saw him. His hair was a dark dirty blonde, with blue eyes that were kind and gentle. He was a poor man, you could tell. So I looked at the man, and smiled. His face lit up like a lightbulb and he returned the smile. The next day, I was out buying a laptop. I had just walked out of the store when I noticed the man once again. This time he was sitting on the floor playing a violin. There was a sign that asked for money. It was Christmas Day, and I noticed he had almost no donations. So, I smiled and took out the laptop, and put in the pile. He looked up at me and smiled. No words were needed.
So the next day I was going to the airport. I was moving to Colorado. I saw the man once again sitting there playing violin. He looked cold and he was shivering. I looked in my suitcase and found my blanket, which was for cold winter. I took it out, and handed it to him. He smiled, and said
"Thank you, and a Merry Christmas"
I smiled back at him. The best Christmas present I need was the joy of giving.
