Argest continued to slowly waddle down the seemingly endless series of tunnels. He didn't know how much longer he could really last, that fight took a lot out of him.
"Argest, you sure you wanna keep going like this? I wouldn't mind taking over again." Hero offered. Argest shook his head lightly "This is somethin' I have ta' finish up mehself laddy. This is the most fun i've had in a while." Argest grinned, although his face of self satisfication turned into one of pain. He had a few broken ribs, that felt as if they were jabbing into his lungs every now and then.
"Argest, please, stop. I'll even take over, you can't fight in your condition..." Scarecrow pleaded, in all honesty, Argest could probably take down plenty of opponents in his condition, but if he were to run into somebody as tough as that Fierce Mole, or even tougher than that, he'd be screwed.
Argest finally made his way out of the series of tunnels, and into another large chamber. There was a large gap from one side of the room, to the other. Connecting to two cliffs was a large wooden bridge. Argest cracked his neck, and began to walk across the bridge.
An odd feeling began filling the air, at first Argest didn't know how to explain it. The feeling soon became very obvious. Argest was getting incredibly cold, incredibly fast. Within seconds Argest was seeing his brathe coming out as a thick smog. By the time Argest reached the middle of the bridge, the room was completely glazed in a thick ice coating. The entrances were now blocked off, and snow gently floated from the ceiling.
"Hold it right there!" A voice called from behind Argest. Argest turned his practically frozen head, to glance at the emo-ish looking man suited in a tux. The red highlights that were in his hair, were now blue. Argest growled lightly, it was his guess that the man was the cause of all the snow, and ice. "And you are?!" Argest called out from the middle of the now frozen bridge.
[color-blue]"The name's Agent Zero, you can just call me Zero..." He answered with a small grin. A playful grin stretched across Argest's face "Just Zero? Why, cause you're a loser?!!" Argest burst into laughter, Hero joined in. Zero sighed deeply, and began rubbing his left temple.
"It seems you don't know how crticial your condition is..." Zero threatened, he lifted his right hand out of his pocket. With a deep breathe his arm was covered in ice. Zero's entire right arm had transformed into an ice blade.
"You're going to perish..."
Zero broke into a fast dash toward Argest. Argest pulled out a small pistol and began shooting. Zero continued charging his opponent with great confidence. Any bullets that didn't miss were easily deflected with his newly acquired ice blade.
Argest cursed under his breathe "Dammit! Why can't I hit him?!"
"Like we said! You're in no condition to fight! Let one of us take over!!!"
"Fine, just don't die!" Argest snapped back. Dark Blue smoke emitted from Argest's ears. Zero watched as smoke covered his opponents' body. He just scoffed "You think a smoke bomb can protect you?! Where do you expect to run off to?!!" Zero threw his blade into the smoke with a large roar. The smoke cleared and a small teenage boy stood in front of Zero. With the word small, it techinically means short, just short enough to avoid Zero's attack.
This was Scarecrow...
Zero looked at his new opponent. He had dark blue hair, that fell flat down, a pair of red goggles set on his forehead. Scarecrow wore a long dark blue jacket, similar to Hero's. Black jeans suited his lower half. Scarecrow's eyes were an odd shade of grey, mixed with some blue, his skin was more pale than the usual skin tone.
Zero scoffed "You went from using guns, to using a little boy? This is insulting!" Zero swung his blade down toward Scarecrow. Scarecrow held out his hand, and in a blink of an eye, Zero's blade stopped. No matter how hard he tried, Zero couldn't move his arm. {color=blue]"What?! What is this?!!"
Scarecrow smiled inocently "Telepathy, it real convenient." the small boy smiled and with his opposite hand, his left hand, he held out his index finger toward Zero. Zero looked down as he watched a large bubble of energy build up around Scarecrow's left index finger. The bubble launched itself off of his finger, and slammed into Zero's gut, sending him flying across the bridge back the way he came. Zero crashed into a large block of ice, and plopped into a pile of snow.
"Hmmm... A telepathy user. eh? This will be much more interesting than I thought..." Zero muttered to himself as he climbed out of the snow, and got into a battle stance. He took a long look at the boy, he looked so frightened, and worried, but why? If anyone had the powers that Scarecrow did, you'd figure you'd never have to be afraid of anything. So why did this kid look like he'd faint at the sight of his own shadow? Zero shook his head rapidly, they must be trying to throw him off guard or something. This was just a small child, and he was a highly trained assasin. Zero's confidence grew, as he charged at his opponent again. Zero jabbed his blade toward Scarecrow's torso, once again, Zero's arm was stopped in mid-air. Zero took a deep breathe, and the blade suddenly grew longer, with this extra length the blade slammed into Scarecrow's gut.
Although the wound was deep, Scarecrow didn't even flinch, which left Zero a bit shocked. Zero just growled, before he found himself being thrown backwards, even though it was just a small nudge. Before Zero could catch his balance, several balls of energy were dispersed from Scarecrow's finger, and into Zero's face, sending Zero flying into the same pile of snow as before. By now, Zero was enraged. He burst from the snow, but instead of charging in, he took a long deep breathe. Hundreds of ice shards burst from the ground, and floated in the air,
"I hope you enjoyed yourself, because this all ends now, next time think before stealing from the Librarian!"
The army of ice shards came storming down toward Scarecrow. Scarecrow used his telepathy to hold back as many shards as he could, although a few dozen got through, planting themselves into Scarecrow's body. Again, Scarecrow didn't even flinch from what would make an ordinary man break down, and cry.
The shards that Scarecrow managed to stop were sent flying back toward Zero, but were shattered in mid-air by Zero's manipulative abilities. Zero glared at Scarecrow, and with a quick breathe sent a pillar of ice through Scarecrow's gut.
"Scarecrow! Are you alright?! Switch me, hurry!" Hero demanded. Scarecrow shook his head rapidly "No, no, no! I can handle this, really!" Scarecrow protested. He looked at the ice pillar that had just been jammed through him, if he switched now, the blood would stop. Being in Someone's mind for some reason healed you extremely fast. Although Scarecrow felt no pain due to his insanely large tolerance to pain. It seemed like he had to switch, or risk bleeding to death. Scarecrow dwelled on what to do, before using telepathy to shatter the ice, and running at Zero. Zero did the same, lunging himself toward Scarecrow. Zero swung his ice blade toward Scarecrow, although the small boy used his momentum to skid of the icy floors, quickly placing him behind Zero. With one large push with his psychic prowess, he sent Zero flying across the bridge. Zero crashed into the wall of ice that was blocking the team's path, the wall crumbled on top of Zero, giving them time to plan.
"Alright... Hero, take over...
Red smoke emitted from Scarecrow's ears, and from the smoke came Hero. Without wasting any time, he began running across the bridge. Zero dug himself out of the debri of the ice wall. He saw Hero, and grunted Zero, threw a few, large ice shards toward Hero in Zero's last attempt to defeat his opponent. Hero grinned,
"Nighty night... Loser..." Hero grabbed the hilt of his katana, and time seemed to freeze.
"Wait... You did it again... Time seems to slow down around us... Hero... What is this... Power...?
"Hey kid, I can't explain now. I promise we'll talk about this later...
Time unfroze. The ice shards had been sliced in hlaf, and clattered to the floor. Zero had been sliced in half, along with a couple dozen other gashes in his torso. Zero lifted his right arm, the only attached one, off of the floor "W...Wait! Who... Who are you really?!" Zero called out.
Hero paused, a smile spreading from ear to ear, although Hero was already heading toward the exit, leaving the bloody mess that was Agent Zero to rot on the ground,
"Me? Oh, i'm just your average Hero..."
