• It was an average day in Osaka. My friends Saiya, Kiki, Murasaki, and Hidime were in my backyard, inside the shed. On the outside it seems like a normal old shed, but on the inside, it was a high-tech ghost hunting hideout. My friends and I are ghost hunters. We help people with ghost problems. It's a fun yet complicated job.

Today we got a call from a guy by the name of Hiroshi. He says that his house keeps disappearing. We've heard of things disappearing, but not houses. Still, we can handle it. So we hopped on our bikes and rode off.

Some time later, we approached the house. Well, we approached the area where the house was supposed to be.

"Uh...do you see a house," Murasaki asked.
"Oh yeah. It's so visible," I replied sarcastically.
"Calm down you two. We'll figure this out," Hidime reasured.
"Hey look," Kiki started. "If you concentrate on the area, you see a outer line of the house."
"Kiki, I don't know if you've realized, but thinking and concentrating is your job. My job is to burst through the door and get rid of the ghost."
"Tsumi you have issues," Murasaki stated.
"Thank you. Proud of them too."

We stood there not knowing what to do. Then there was a screech. We looked up ad saw a guy standing there. Then the house appeared. The man was tall, had short reddish brown hair and brown eyes.

"Holy lots of anime that was cool," I exclaimed.
"More like creepy," Saiya whispered to me.
"Aw Saiya, you have to agree that was cool. I mean, once he stepped out the door the house just popped up! It was like a magic trick!"
"All the simple things amuse you," Hidime stated as she rolled her eyes.
"Nice to see that you girls could make it," he said with a smile.
"What? You doubted that we could make it here?"
"Tsumi! Excuse our partner Tsumi, she has issues. I am Murasaki. This is Kiki, Saiya, and Hidime."
    "Um...hello? I'm still here."
"Oh stop your whining," Saiya demanded.
"Well, I am Pein. Follow me if you may."

We followed him inside the house. Inside things were floating. Hiroshi stopped when he noticed that I was not coming.

    "Is something wrong Tsumi,"Hiroshi asked.
"No, I'm okay. My chest just hurts."
"Oh boy. Pein, Tsumi has the ability to sense the presents of ghosts and sprits," Murasaki explained.
"Tsumi stay here. We'll be back in a moment," Hidime said.
"No, it's okay. A little pain never hurts. I can take it," I reassured.
"Oh yeah? Before or after you die?"
    "Both."

I stepped inside the house and automatically fell to the floor. Saiya sighed and brought me outside.

"Now stay out here and don't move."
    "Fine."
"Maybe one of us should stay with her. You remember what happened last time we left her by herself." Kiki suggested.
"I'll stay with her. You go do your job, I'd just get in the way," Pein said.
"Um...okay. Go ahead," Saiya said unsure

So Hiroshi came outside and sat next to me. Murasaki, Kiki, Saiya, and Hidime went inside. This is how it usually went. I sit outside while my friends did the job. Of course me being me, always come to the rescue. They couldn't last without me. So I'll just sit here till they come screaming for my help. I'l just sit here...bored...alone...in silence.

Inside the house, Saiya kept looking back toward the door.

"Is there something wrong Saiya," Murasaki asked.
"Somethings not right about Hiroshi. I don't know what, but I don't like it, or him."
"You always feel that way about anybody near Tsumi. Besides, you don't like that many people," Hidime stated.
"Shut it Hidime. You're one of those people."

Twenty minutes past and not one clue was found to where the ghost could be or where it came from. Most of the house has already been explored and everything seemed to be normal. All except the floating furniture that is.

    "We need Tsumi," Kiki sighed.
"You're right. Without her, we can't tell where the ghost is. Lets go back and get her."
"No Murasaki. Me and tsumi have been friends all our lives. If you make her come in here, her heart could stop and you know that."
    "But Saiya-"
"We'll just find another way. Trust me."

Outside, on the porch, I was talking to Hiroshi about the house.

"If you know the house is haunted, then why don't you move out?"
"You see, this is the house my family has always lived in. Sure it's been renovated, but it's still the same."
"Have you ever thought that the ghost in your house could be a family member?"
"It's possible. I have a very big family. See this?" He pulled out a necklace from his shirt. It was blue and black and in the shape of a cross with a blue-green gem on it. Then there was a quick flash in my mind.
"Hiroshi, I want to try something."
    "Sure."
    "Okay give me your hand."
    "All right."

I put my hand on his and moved close to his face. I looked into his eyes and saw a lit candle. Inside the house there was a scream. I got up and ran inside. For some reason, there was no pain in my chest.

    "Saiya,"I yelled. "Are you okay?"
"Tsumi," Saiya's voice came from the distance.

    "Hiroshi, somethings not right here."

There was no reply. I turned around and saw nothing.

    "Tsumi, are you there?"
"Saiya, I'm over here," I called out.

    Saiya finally came into view.

    "Where's Hiroshi?"
"I'm not sure. He just vanished out of no where."
"Knew there was something wrong with him. Come on, the others are waiting for us."
    "Right."

Then, a pulse a pain shot through my heart. The pain was so great, I fainted. Last thing I saw was Pein standing behind Saiya. When I woke up I was in a dark room. My chest still hurt, but not as much. The room was dusty and the furniture were covered with white sheets. There was only one window and I couldn't find the door. All I could do was sit and wait. Yeah right, like I'd ever do that. I have to much potential for that. So I looked around for any clues on anything really I found a painting of Hiroshi. For the look of it, the painting was very old. But how could it be Hiroshi? He's only in his late twenties. Maybe it's a relative or something. On the frame, there was an inscription. It wasn't written in english. I think Russian. That's Hidime's department. I sighed.

"What to do now," I asked myself.

With Saiya, she was with the rest of the group.

"We have to go. Tsumi is in trouble."
    "Saiya calm down. What happened?"
"Tsumi fainted. Hiroshi sneaked up behind me. Then I was here."
"Interesting," Hidime started. "Saiya, take us to where you found Tsumi."

She led them to the hallway were I was last seen. Hidime began looking for clues. She came to a statue. She studied it for a moment then she touched the head. Then the wall behind it moved, showing a secret passage way. They went inside and found themselves in a room. The same room I was in. Because it was so dark, they couldn't see me.

    "Someone's in here." Saiya warned.
"Do you think Tsumi's in here," Kiki asked.
    "Maybe, but still be careful."

I could here their voices, so I walked over to them.

"Hi guys," I said in a loud, happy voice.
"Tsumi! Don't scare us like that! Almost gave me a heart attack!"
"Sorry Murasaki. Hidime, I found something that might help us. But it's in another language so... yeah."

I showed her the painting and the inscription.

    "It's in Russian-"
    "Oh yeah! I was right!"
"Right.... Anyway. It says, "souls forever forgotten shall reside in this house until the candle has been turned out."
"Well, what does that mean? There aren't any candles," Murasaki said.
"Guys, something powerful is coming," Saiya stated.
"Yeah I can feel it. It's only one though. Yet it seems... familiar," I replied.

There was a creak, then at the end of the room was a light. A candle light. Murasaki walked up to the candle and gasp.

    "What's wrong," I asked.
"This candle. The fire is made up of souls."
"Creepy," we all said in union.
"I think I get the meaning of the painting now," Kiki started. "The writing said until the candle has been turned out right? Well, since the candles fire is made up of souls, where did the souls come from?"
    "I don't get it," I said.
"I think I get what she's saying. All the people who've lived in the house, their souls are in that fire. So the last person who lived here, their soul is what will burn out the flame. Murasaki, cast the spell seal away. All we need to do is get Pein in here."
"Wait Hidime, are you saying that we have to kill Pein?"
"Don't you get it Tsumi? He's already dead. Look at the date on the painting. It was made in 1873."
    "And?"
"And it's a painting of Hiroshi. If he was born then, he would look older than old, or be dead."
    "I got the spell going."
"Good. Now how to get Hiroshi in here?"
    "I'm already here."

His voice seemed to come from out of no where. He walked into the spell circle next to the candle.

"I want you to set us free from this house. We're tired of being trapped here. That's why I called you."
"Right. Okay, Kiki and Murasaki, this is your department."
    "Okay. Murasaki, make the portal."

There was light, then there was a swirling purple vortex underneath Hiroshi and the candle. Kiki and Murasaki looked at each other.

"Ready? Time to go to the spirit world."
    "Now Kiki!"
    "RELEASE!"

There was a series of lights and ghosts were flying all over the room. When the lights stopped, the candle's fire was gone, as was Pein. With a sigh of relief, we went outside the house and went back to my house. We watched movies and ate popcorn. I was on the computer checking my email.

"Hey look guys I got a email," I said all happy like.
"You always get email," Saiya said in a tired voice.
"But you'll never guess who it's from."
"Who's it from," Hidime asked even though she didn't care.
    "Hiroshi!"
"You got his...of course she does," Saiya sighed.

They all got up and left the room shaking their heads in disbelief. I sat there confused.

"Guys? Where are you going? Aw come on, is it such a big deal?"
"Tsumi, Hiroshi is dead. And you're getting emails from him. How is that even possible," Murasaki asked.
"There's internet in spirit world, I guess."
"You're so weird. Why'd you even give him your email?"
"What can I say? He was hot."

With a big group sigh they walked away, again, only this time they went into the hide out. Like I said, it was an average day. For a ghost hunting group that is.
