• "I'm leaving!"Aimee slammed the front door of her and her mother's small house so hard that the few small wall hangings they owned nearly fell off the pure white wall and crashed to the floor. But Aimee wished that they had, maybe that way her mother might realize how angry she felt. Aimee grabbed her black and red bike and started riding to school slowly. She was too angry to think.
    'It isn't fair.'

When she got to school, Aimee was five minutes early so she decided to sit down and eat something out of her bag. she had left in such a hurry that she hadn't had time to eat. The bell rang and she shoved the remains of her sandwich in her bag and walked to her first class, English. She sat down in her normal seat at the back of the cold grey classroom and pulled out her book.
    'Writing short stories? How boring...'

The teacher was talking but Aimee had no idea what about, she was too busy writing down lyrics to a new song she was working on. it was her dream to become a singer/song writer but her mother had always shunned the idea. it wasn't just a simple 'no' either. if her mother heard a single note escape from her daughters mouth, she would be grounded for a week, minimum. It's not like she had anywhere to go though. 'Damn her, it's just not fair! Just because she didn't have her chance to shine doesn't mean I can't! She should be proud...' Aimee had stopped writing now and was thinking of a way she could fix the problem. 'I could run away again, just because it didn't work the last three times doesn't mean it wont work this time! Nah, I need to think of something better.' She thought of calling children services.
'But is what my mother doing a crime?'

English finally ended and the next two periods flew by and before she knew it, Aimee was in fourth period, Science. They were in the lab today. Not doing an experiment, just because their normal room was being used by another class.
    'Life's just not fair...'

Aimee had no idea what the teacher was talking about. Atoms? Neutrons? Why did she need to know about things the eye couldn't see? 'It's not like they are important.' Her mind started to wonder, she looked around the dull white room until her gaze fell upon a tall grey cupboard. The chemical cupboard. in there lied the answer to her problem, poison! Thats how she would do it.
'Now I just have to wait.'

There was five minutes till the end of class and still no option to get the the cupboard. She was scribbling down things she didn't understand, still waiting. When the bell rang she thought it was over, no chance now, until the teacher explained that he was needed at a meeting and needed someone to deliver the keys back to the staff room. Aimee raised her hand and was chosen. He handed her the keys while they were walking out of the door and he told her where to take them. She walked in the direction he had pointed and waited. When the coast was clear she ran back to the lab and unlocked the door. She dropped her bag so she could use both hands to search through the cupboard. She was searching for anything that said the word toxic. Finally she found a white bottle and shoved it in her bag then walked out of the classroom. She locked the door, took back the keys and went to get her bike.
    'It's going to end tonight.'

Her mother was already home when Aimee arrived so she went silently to her bedroom and sat on her bed thinking about what might happen. 'Maybe her face will turn green, or even explode! She might just fall or something. I wonder if it could make her go so insane that she gorges her own eyes out and dies from blood loss!' Aimee stood up and started pacing the short length of her bedroom.
'Whatever happens, I'm not cleaning it up.'

Aimee looked over at her clock; it was 6:07pm. Time to prepare dinner. She made her was out of the bedroom and to the lounge where her mother was sitting, watching T.V. She informed her mother that they were having chicken and vegetables with gravy for dinner. Without waiting for a response she walked into the kitchen.
'Look at her sitting there so peacefully while I have to cook and clean. other normal twelve year olds don't have to go through what I do.'

The chicken and vegetables were cooked; she was just preparing the gravy. While storing the brown mixture she reached into her pocket with her spare hand and pulled out the bottle. She poured the contents into the gravy and continued to stir.
'I hope she enjoys her last meal.'

She served it up, being extremely careful not to get any of the gravy on her plate. She walked out to the dining room and placed the plates down on the table. She called for her mother and sat down to eat. The whole meal was eaten in silence. Aimee occasionally looked up to see if anything was happening, but nothing was. her mother stood up and took her plate to the kitchen.
"I'm going out to the garden to pick some flowers for the florist if you need me." Aimee watched her mother walk out into the garden from the window. Still nothing was happening. Her mother moved out of the light so Aimee decided to go outside.
'I want to watch it happen.'

She walked over to her mother and just stood there watching. There was no response from her mother. Aimee knelt down and picked some flowers from the garden and carefully placed them in her mothers basket. This triggered a reaction, a strange look. But still she just continued to pick more flowers.
'Damn her, she doesn't care about me. 'Why isn't she dying already?!'

The basket was full now and her mother stood up with the basket and stepped forwards. but suddenly her body grew limp and she fell backwards to the ground. Aimee just stared at her lifeless eyes. She kicked her arm just to make sure she was really dead. She was.
"What about one last song, eh?" Aimee started humming a slow tune while walking around the garden and picked the nicest red roses she could find. She placed the bunch into her mothers hands and slowly her humming formed into the lyrics she was writing during English.
"Heres a lullaby to close your eyes,
it was always you that I despised.
I don't feel enough for you to cry,
so here's a lullaby to close your eyes.
    Goodbye..."

    Fin.
