As the days progressed Delsus kept on reading the book and trying out some of the examples it gave. Delsus had successfully made the middle of his floor bevel out like a doughnut. Ray walked in and was stunned to see the doughnut shaped raise on the floor.
"D-did you do this Del?"
Delsus smiled and ran over to Ray.
"Yes sir! I made it all by myself!"
He smiled big and looked at his job well done.
Ray looked at it with a serious face then smiled at Delsus.
"Just like your father. But your father isn't nearly as good as you Delsus."
Delsus laughed and blushed slightly.
"I can't wait to show papa the great job I did!"
Ray smiled.
"Yup, tomorrow your father is going to meet us somewhere to give us a special box."
Delsus tugged on Rays pants.
"What kind of box?"
Ray patted Delsus' head.
"A box full of goodies for me and my friends of course!"
Delsus looked down and thought for a moment, then looked back up and smiled.
"Like the weird flour balls that papa was bringing you yesterday?"
Ray laughed.
"No no. Better!"
Delsus frowned.
"I wanna know. Please uncle Ray Ray?"
Ray picked up Delsus and sat him on the bed.
"I can't tell you until tomorrow night okay?"
Ray walked towards the door.
" Okay. Nighty night uncle Ray Ray."
Ray smiled and turned out the lights.
"Good night Delsus."
He shut the door and walked off. Delsus tired to sleep so the night would go by faster but he was full of thoughts on what could be in the box and alchemy. He tossed and turned in the bed and finally fell asleep after a while. The next morning Delsus awoke early and began reading more of the alchemy book. He took the half broken pencil he used before and created more array's on the floor around the doughnut. Some arrays had two circles with a few triangle and a strange fire symbol in the middle others had a wavy marking in the middle of two circles and on large triangle. He looked around and smiled.
"That should do it."
He clasped his hands together and placed his palms on the outside circles of one of the array's. A blue light began to shine and Delsus smiled. Ray just got off the elevator with some cereal and a bottle of milk. He then heard a loud crash as the floor shook around him. He dropped the bowl and milk and ran towards Delsus' room and rushed to open the door. Inside he saw the doughnut had shot up through the ceiling and had branches with leaves on them. He looked around for Delsus and called out for him several times. Delsus came from behind the doughnut wall coughing. He saw Ray and stopped in his tracks. He smiled and laughed nervously placing one hand behind his head and rubbing.
"Sorry uncle Ray Ray...I messed up."
As he finished a piece of the ceiling fell to the ground behind him.
"Eheh."
Ray was stunned at his progress.
"I-Its alright Delsus. No harm done..."
Ray sighed deeply and turned around to pick up the cereal bowl. Delsus walked out to help him.
"Don't worry uncle Ray Ray I can make an array to clean this whole mess..."
Ray interrupted him and said.
"No. You don't have to help...Just go back to your room and wait for nightfall."
Delsus frowned knowing he had done something bad and ran to his room slamming to door behind him. Ray cleaned up most of the mess and stood up.
"I'll be glad when this is over. I'll never have to see either of them again."
With a sigh he walked onto the elevator and went down. As nightfall came around it began to rain heavily. Ray walked to Delsus' room knowing about the hole in the ceiling and open the door slowly. He saw Delsus curled up in a small cave made out of the bed. He walked over to Delsus and extended his hand towards him.
"Time to meet dad Delsus. Delsus quietly grabbed his hand and got out of the cave. He stood and fallowed Ray out of the room and into the elevator.
"I'll have to give you a raincoat for the weather. Its pretty bad."
Delsus looked straight ahead no making any eye contact and said sadly,
"I'm sorry uncle Ray Ray. I messed everything up."
Ray looked down at Delsus who was silently crying. Ray kneeled down and wiped the tears from his eyes.
"Listen, its alright Delsus. You didn't mean to make a mess. Besides your just a beginner."
Delsus smiled faintly.
"S-so you forgive me?"
Ray nodded and Delsus hugged him tightly. The elevator reached to bottom and they made their way to the car. Ray opened the door and Delsus hopped in and saw the Alchemy book sitting next to him. Delsus quickly looked at Ray and Ray smiled.
"Think of it as a gift. If I don't see you for a while okay?"
Delsus smiled and nodded. The sun set and the rain was even worse than it was before. After half an hour of driving Ray pulls into an empty lot with a few other cars inside with their headlights pointing towards a man who was wearing a brimmed hat standing in the middle alone, drenched in the rain. Ray stepped out and a few others stepped out and walked up to Ray. One man whispered into Ray's ear and Ray nodded. A man opened the door for Delsus who then stepped out and was almost ankle deep in soggy mud. Ray waved Delsus over and held his hand. Delsus was confused so he stayed quiet and stared at the man in the middle of all that lights.
"So, Anthony do you have the case?"
Yelled Ray over the rain. The man stepped to the side to reveal a large metal black case. Delsus realized that it was his father and tugged on Ray's hand.
"That's my papa uncle Ray Ray!"
Ray stood silent, ignoring Delsus. Delsus tried to walk towards Anthony but was pulled back by Ray who's grip has gotten tighter. Anthony Looked over and saw little Delsus in a large black raincoat.
"There! I've done what you've told me. Just give me my son."
Yelled Anthony. Ray looked at another man and moved his head and signaled him to get the case. The man walked over and picked up the case and returned.
"Alright Anthony! Just cut your palms so we won't have any alchemic disturbances. Anthony removed his gloves and pulled out a box cutter and slit his palms. Delsus tugged on his arm trying to get free.
"No! Don't tell papa to do that! He'll be hurt!"
Ray released Delsus.
"Go to your father now. He's waiting."
Delsus ran forward then ran back into the car and got his book. He ran back out to Anthony. Anthony Dropped to his knees and opened his arms wide. Delsus ran into his hug and smiled.
"Good thing you picked me up papa! I was getting worried."
Anthony smiled, sighed deeply and stood.
"Come on Delsus. Let's go home."
As he finished a small explosive rolled towards them and stopped behind Delsus' heel. Anthony's eyes widened and pushed Delsus away. "RUN DELSUS!" Anthony covered the bomb with his body and Delsus stood confused and help less nearby.
"RUN NOW!"
Anthony yelled. Delsus began backing up then he saw fire envelope his father and he saw the flames shooting towards him and he blacked out.
