Gracie felt her fingers hit the keys of her piano, her brown hair falling off her broad shoulders, her eyes slowly drooping closed, and her dad popped into her head, his bushy gray mustache standing out over his abnormally large upper lip, his black eyes glistening from the moon, his shoulder-length hair being swept away from his face by the salty ocean water, the boat's lights gleaming off the ocean's surface, the screaming of the crew mates echoing off the boat's weak walls, and the boat fell under a mountain of glacier-cold water.
Gracie opened her eyes and stopped. She wiped her eyes sleepily and decided to play another one of her songs. She pulled her hair back back into a loose bun and closed her eyes once more, letting her dog's muddy face come to her attention, his wet nose sniffing the mulched ground for any sign of life, and he shook his dirt-filled fur of all the things within it, the cricket that must get home to his family, some leaves from a shrub in their backyard, remains of opposum thats he'd eaten earlier that day, and he walked over to the fence, and jumped it, not even looking back.
Gracie stopped again and slammed the keys with her fists in anger. "Why do I keep getting these images?" she yelled at herself.
"Gracie, sweetie, are you ok?" Mrs. Morrison called from the kitchen.
"Yeah, mom, I'm fine. Just playing the piano." Gracie tightened her bun and decided to play one more song. She closed her eyes for the last time and began playing, her true love's perfect face entering in, his dimpled face complimented by is wavy blonde hair, his water-blue eyes brighter than anyone's in the room, his smile wide with excitement as he danced with a familiar girl, and it was Gracie, her floor-long satin gown moving with her feet as she danced with this beautiful boy, her brown hair on top off her head in a bun that looked like Cinderella's, and the boy leaned down to kiss this familiar girl atop her head and she beamed is delight, then....... Gracie's song was over. She smiled the smile for her image and opened her eyes.
Gracie got up from her master piano and walked around it, looking at its perfect shape, defining every curve, every dip, every perfect straight plain. She sighed with a sense of accomplishment as she walked to her bedroom to sleep.
