He smelled like smoke. Maybe that was because of the fire. Though it seemed to me he always smelled like that.
I stared up into his icy blue eyes. Lately they had changed to a deep steel gray color, but they were starting to change back; I could see the blue in the rims of his eyes, and around the pupil. Another thing I love about his eyes; the shattered ice pattern in them. That’s the one thing that never changed about him.
The smell of smoke got stronger as he came closer to me. I smiled, even though I knew exactly what was coming.
He leaned down to kiss me, very softly, of course.
I inhaled his scent, just one last time. I felt the cool metal of a gun being pressed to the side of my head.
As he pulled away I could see the sorrow in his eyes. I smiled and touched his face lightly, but before I could pull my hand away, I heard a loud ‘Bang!’ and everything went black…
