- Actuly I used film and its not that easy and it is hard to get one to stay still long enough to take one

- It isn't hard if you change your lens focus to a macro setting. It's different for every camera (I am assuming you used digital) so read your manual to learn how to do this. It makes close ups much easier, and would allow you to focus on the dragonfly, not the strip of wood.
