Whilst experimenting with the Macro upon my camera, I took a picture of some of the tinsel and artificial Christmas tree, and, thought it came out rather nicely!
I admit, I would have liked it better to be a real Christmas Tree, it'd have been interesting to see the spines up close, but, I like the look of this effect, too. - Date: 12/23/2008

Your right, closer would have been better. A manual focus to get the spine with a little blur,( not movement blur just not in focus blur), on the tinsel.

- I think it looks cool. I'll admit, at first I did think it looked like shredded paper, but once I read what it was I thought that was pretty cool. I'll give it a 4/5
