Right, I agree. The carnation was a great idea, but I'd do a slightly overhead shot with you looking directly at the lens with big eyes. If you have Photoshop, I'd try to clone-stamp the seatbelt out of the picture, bring the contrast up and saturation down a little, make the carnation look more like it's pointed towards us and maybe make the weather outside look rainy.
